We continue to receive
many inquiries from people who have purchased registry repair software that they are not happy with but when they go to request a
refund they can't. For this very reason we have compiled a list of
"must have features" that you should look for in a product
in advance of buying it.
- Support: Obvious we know but many companies do not offer it
Make sure the company offers
support. If you are interested in a
product - before you go ahead and purchase it send off a quick email
to the company asking any type of question. Don't feel any bit
embarrassed by the question you ask as it more important that you
get a reply. If you don't receive a reply within 3 days ( even
better 1 to 2 days ) at most then "Do Not Purchase This
Product". You will be surprised how many registry cleaning
products don't have contact information at their websites. If there
is no contact information or an online support chat service then "Do
Not Purchase This Product".
Check out our registry
cleaner comparison chart for our list of preferred registry
cleaners for 2007. We have already tested these products so you can
be guaranteed that our recommended registry cleaners work.
-
Refund Policy
Do not purchase a registry
cleaning product unless it offers a 100% money back guarantee. A
refund policy should be clearly visible before or during the
purchasing process. Most good registry cleaning software will offer
at least a 30 day money back guarantee so you can essentially trial
the software free during this period. The refund policy should not
be difficult either. Our recommended
registry cleaner comparison chart all
have at least a 30 day money back offer.
-
Beware of Some Higher Priced Software
Remember just because a
product is more expensive doesn't mean it is better. Many people
unfortunately make this mistake when it comes to purchasing registry
cleaning software. For example we found from our own tests that the Registry
Easy tool was a much superior tool to some of the other
products tested yet was cheaper to buy so again - don't be fooled by
the price it is the quality of the product that is most important.
-
Errors Reported
This is a bit of a "double
edge sword" but still worth a mention. Be "wary" of
tools that either report too high or too low a number of registry
problems. For example if you download a free trial of a product and it
scans and discovers say 5000+ problems then what we suggest you do is download
a free trial of another registry cleaner ( check out our registry
cleaner comparison chart for one you can trust ) and run that free scan then compare the
results and see. It is a bit of extra work but well worth it in the
long run.
- Software Not
Updated
Quality Registry cleaner
software is continuously updated to iron out bugs and cater for new
operating system upgrades. Make sure before you purchase any registry
cleaner software that you check this out. If not evident from the
products website just fire off a quick email to their support to find
out.
